Working with video, on-line & On the Go communications technology single channel works and installations.

Working with video since 1968 Marroquin is considered as one of the pioneers of video art in The Netherlands, since1965 his works has been exhibited in: van Abbe Museum Eindhoven, Centre Pompidou Paris, ICA London, Museo Reina Sofia Madrid, Chicago Art Institute, ICC Antwerp, Art Metropole Toronto, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Metropole Toronto, Museum of  Palazzo dei Diamante Ferrara, Moderna Museet Stockholm and form part of many public and private collections: Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Centre Pompidou Paris, Museo La Tertulia Cali, Museo Reina Sofia Madrid, Museum of Modern Art New York, Saachi London, Bonnefanten Museum Maastricht  Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Bogota, etc.

Since the late 1970 Marroquin gives lectures and conduct workshops on tactical media, low end technology and innovation: Buffalo State College, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee Scotland, Jumex Museum Mexico City, N.Y.U. and Cooper Union and New York, New Castle University New Castle upon Tyne UK, Escuela de Bellas Artes Cali, Center for Advanced Visual Studies MIT Cambridge, Chicago Art Institute, Media Art Department Iowa University, Universidad Catolica de Valencia, London School of Economics and Political Sciences, Facultad de Bellas Artes Universidad de Antioquia Medellin, Temple University Philadelphia, Universidad Nacional Bogota and others.

As a student at the Jan van Eijck Akademie  (1971 - 1974) R. Marroquin published Fandangos a periodical that featured new and stablished experimental, artists, composers, poets, etc.

Raul Marroquin writes on subjects related to communications technology, regulation and innovation for on line publications and trade & scientific magazines.

Television has been an integral part of Marroquin 's work since the mid 1970 's he produced works for Channel 4 BBC, Deutsland 3, Manhattan Cable and many other local networks throughout the USA. V.P.R.O. the Netherlands; One of the episodes of Suberbman's Last Adventure Series (Raul Maroquin 1975 - 1976) was cablecasted live by LOB the first cable network in Amsterdam and the Netherlands, he was also co editor of "Time Based Arts Television" (1988 - 1990) and "Kanaal Zero" (1990 - 1991)

During the early 1990s he also created short lived television programs: "Strictly Digital Television" (1990 - 1991) and Black Hole Television (1991).

From 1990 until today Marroquin has directed De Hoeksteen Live Television a 12 (1991 - 2001) 4 (2001 - 2018
